ALPHA DINNER @ CYBERPORT Having come from a family of "Alphaholics", I couldn't wait to get involved with this year's Alpha Initiative. The Alpha Course runs in 152 countries, and each year The Vine runs one in Hong Kong. It's basically a ten-week opportunity to explore the validity and relevance of the Christian faith to your life today. The Course kicked off with an "Invitation Dinner" at a place called Cyberport on the West of the Island. It's basically the most technologically advanced venue in all of Hong Kong... and The Vine turned it into four fantastic restaurants, namely: Silk, Linen, Gingham and Denim. I've been helping out at Flight 852 for the past couple of months, so I was dining at 'Denim' with the youth. As you can see from the photos, it was more of a "disco" than a dinner, and I struggled to move, let alone dance having stuffed myself to the gills at the buffet. I'm not sure how many people attended the overall Dinner, but the target was a thousand. Either way, I've just learnt that this was the largest Alpha Dinner in Hong Kong, China and Asia - it was really something special. And in this respect, I can honestly say it was only because of God that everything came together in the end. It really was a logistical miracle... and that includes the making of the website too.
