FLIGHT 852 PRESENTS: THE CHAMPION That "Friday Feeling" I used to get when I was at university in the UK no longer exists. Things are different here in Hong Kong, and the PCLL runs six days a week. So instead of winding down for the weekends, I now find myself having to hold out until Sunday... and that sucks. There is one saving grace, however, and that's Flight 852. Flight 852 is my churches youth group; the "852" representing the international dialing code for Hong Kong. In a nutshell, Flight is, (and quoted from the website):
Some of my friends on the PCLL ask me why I spend my Friday nights at Flight instead of at Lan Kwai or Soho. In reply: It's simply because I feel that God has called me to serve there. As much as I would rather be out having fun and doing my own thing, I want so much more to be obedient to God, and to have His will done in my life. It isn't easy, and there are times (especially after a hard week on the PCLL) that I just want to go home and be on my own. But I know that I'm being trained up for greater things to come, and I know that we're sowing into the next generation - and that's just so worthwhile. So I guess there really isn't anywhere else I'd rather be on a Friday night afterall. This Friday saw Flight 852 present: The Champion. An awesome night of dance, drama, music, art and creativity. Parents and friends were invited to see the kind of stuff we get up to at Flight - and it was pretty spectacular. But instead of trying to explain what it was like, I really encourage you to check out the Flight Photo gallery. Talking of the Flight website - I've just started updating it on a weekly basis. If you're interested in seeing what we get up to every week, or you just want some general information about Flight, please drop by and have a look around, here. |
