DIPPING MY QUILL IN SQUID INK This is both my longest absence from journaling, and the longest time it’s taken me to write a first post for a new year. It’s not all down to busy-ness (although being an intern at a church like The Vine is incredibly time-consuming), but in large, due to the fact that my camera has been broken for the past four months. So to kick off 2007, here’s a photo of a squid at Ocean Park taken with my new camera. Coincidently, it was only recently that the world’s largest Squid, the Colossal Squid, was hauled to the surface of Antartica’s Ross Sea. A whopping 990 pounds that would yield calamari rings the size of tractor tires. Beautiful. Whilst the Colossal Squid was caught eating it’s favourite food, Patagonian Fish, my little squid got captured on my new camera devouring some white-bait. I’ve grown rather attached to this baby squid… it’s going to be a funny ‘ol year. |
