EXPLOSIVE SEAFOOD
May 23 Wednesday 2007

I didn't think it could get much more exciting than the world’s largest squid, which I wrote about here, but it does. I've just found an article about a 60-ton sperm whale that was on transit to a research facility in Taiwan, when gases from it's stomach caused it’s entrails to explode, showering nearby cars and shops - beautiful.

As gross as the whale in the photo looks (and probably smells), I have a real craving for seafood right now. I read a book some time ago, whose author wrote that different blood-types prefer different types of meat; concluding that different types of meat are inherently more suitable for different blood-types, hence the craving.

I don't know if there's any truth in that - but if there is, I'd say that my meat is most definitely fish/seafood. I'm spoilt for choice living in Hong Kong, but my favourite restaurant right now is easily an Italian place in Soho called Al Dente that serves the best seafood paella I've ever had, (minus the whale).
