I WILL NOT GO QUIETLY
September 06 Thursday 2007

An apt title for the first post I’ve made in four months, and one that is coming from the UK. I arrived in London yesterday morning and am embarking on an intensive 9 week internship at Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) Church. For those of you who are not familiar with HTB, it’s where the Alpha Course originated and where Tim Hughes is based with Worship Central.

The aim of the programme is to inspire, equip, train and build up future leaders to return to their home countries skilled and fired up. I’m one of five interns who have been selected from the Asia/Pacific region – and boy am I excited!

Anyhow, the reason why I say I will not go quietly, is that I intend on reviving my journal and keeping this place regularly updated on my time in the UK. That said; I was actually in the UK last month on a 3-week break with Kayi to visit our respective friends and family.

As with most Nam family holidays, it revolved much of the time around food, and with both our parents cooking for us, I ended up packing on quite a few extra pounds. It may not seem that apparent, but give me a squeeze ‘round my belly and all is revealed.
